Excelsior Sports Training ("EST")
We Specialize in Athlete Development and Achieving Optimal Athletic Performance
Excelsior Sports Training (“EST”) is proud to provide WNY athletes and coaches with exclusive services aimed at maximizing athletic performance, and preventing sports injuries. Our EST programs are rooted in a true Sports Performance Model, which offers a comprehensive team approach: EST offers skills and expertise from a wide range of specialists – orthopaedic and sports medicine providers, physical and occupational therapists, certified athletic trainers, sports performance and strength & conditioning coaches.
Individual Athletic Profile
Every athlete is different. Our team understands that in order to truly help athletes achieve their full potential we must first establish an accurate baseline measurement. Once a baseline is established we then design tailored training programs aimed at maximizing performance and minimizing the risk of injury.
Our approach begins with an in-depth three tiered athletic profile on EVERYathlete. This assessment is then reviewed with the athlete and acts as the foundation for each individual athletes training program.
“In order to achieve maximum return from training it is necessary to have an accurate assessment of the athlete's physical capabilities and limitations - we call this the Athletic Profile. This provides information to determine an appropriate starting point for athletic training designed to reach optimal athleticism. This is a complete profile - not a snap shot. The profile consists of three tiers.” – Ron Brissette, Certified Sports Performance Coach
Tier I: Comprehensive Musculoskeletal Review - This tier is designed to identify any potential deficiencies in the body structure that will inhibit performance and increase risk of injury.
Tier II: Physical Competency – This tier is designed to determine how the athlete performs movement skills: squat, lunge, push, pull and core stability.
Tier III: Performance Indicator – This tier measures each athlete’s, sport specific, abilities: speed, power, agility, jumping and endurance.
The individual Athletic Profile is the cornerstone of our sports training programs. Data collected is combined and evaluated by our team and utilized to design tailored sports training programs.
The EST Difference:
- We use scientific data and years of experience to develop customized training programs that yield sustainable results - We use this data to deliver what everyone else promises.
- We use our Athlete Profiles to dictate the training programs we develop for EACH individual athlete
- We offer group training programs where EVERY athlete completes an Athlete Profile which is then used to create individualized instruction to maximize performance
- Focuses on Long Term Athletic Development
- Our team is committed to helping every athlete optimize their performance and prevent injuries
- Differentiated programs for male and females
Athletic Profile Tracking
Over the last 8 years EST has assessed thousands of athletes. We have created an extensive database that projects developmental standards for each age group. We know that by training 1x, 2x or 3x per week what you can expect as you develop as an athlete. Our testing system drives this process, and we use the data to track improvement over time with athletes in different developmental stages.
Fit to Play
Our team designs customized programs for athletes of all levels. We help athletes achieve the next level of performance by integrating the latest advances in science and performance training. Our programs are designed to optimize athleticism and minimize the potential risk for injury. We do this in a safe yet progressive program individually customized for every athlete.

This model is the cornerstone to our team training success
More-and-more athletes are participating in year-round competitive sports. As a result of this many athletes are underperforming and/or suffering injuries due to overuse and flawed biomechanics (flexibility, movement compensation, and inappropriate training).
The team at Excelsior recognizes the need to help educate, develop and train athletes and coaches. Our staff develops customized programs for teams of all levels. Our programs deliver comprehensive training for sports performance and injury prevention.
“We cater to the needs of the coach and his or her athletes. We can develop a program to accomplish any objectives and work to help implement those programs to ensure success.” – Ron Brissette, Certified Sports Performance Coach
