Patient Feedback
About Dr. Hurley
Dr. Hurley is a board certified podiatrist who treats all types of foot conditions. He believes that ensuring patients are comfortable with their care is as important as the medical attention they receive. This leads him to an approach rooted in honesty and enhanced with humor. He wants to make sure patients truly understand their injuries, the healing process, and what to expect during recovery. He strives to make sure his patients see him as a real person, and to relate to them on a personal level.
After his residency in Cleveland, Dr. Hurley and his wife returned to Buffalo to raise their three children. Dr. Hurley stays active playing golf, cycling and walking, and was an avid runner earlier in life. When his children were younger, he spent his free time coaching their soccer and baseball teams. These days, his free time is often spent working in his gardens.
What was your path into podiatry?
“As a child I wanted to be a fireman. My father was a volunteer fireman and I spent a lot of time at our local firehouse. Prior to going to podiatry medical college, I worked as an emergency aide at Sister’s Hospital. There wasn’t really a ‘magic moment’ - I applied to podiatry school and got in, so I went.”
If you weren’t a physician, what else might you be doing?
“I would probably be a teacher if I was not a podiatrist. After I finished my residency, I worked as an assistant professor at the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine - my alma mater - for two years.”
