Excelsior's Story
Excelsior Orthopaedics was officially formed in 2001, however its roots date back to the 1960s. From the beginning, the physicians and medical professionals involved in this vision have been committed to offering the most advanced, compassionate, comprehensive musculoskeletal care in Western New York. Today, Excelsior is the product of several mergers and transitions with multiple locations throughout WNY and a free-standing multi-specialty ambulatory surgery center, Buffalo Surgery Center.
The practice is 100% owned and operated by the physicians who treat patients here each day. This physician-owned model allows for physicians and caregivers to offer patients the care and attention they deserve, each and every visit.
Leading Orthopaedic Care
For the last 25 years, when Western New Yorkers have struggled with chronic pain or an injury to their muscles, bones or joints, they’ve been turning to the specialists at Excelsior Orthopaedics.
That’s because since opening its doors in 2001, Excelsior has been leading the way in the delivery of world-class orthopedic care to patients across the 716 as demonstrated by the following:
· FIRST to offer comprehensive care – everything you need under one roof!
· FIRST to offer outpatient (“hospital free”) joint replacement.
· FIRST to offer urgent orthopaedic care (Excelsior Express).
· And now the FIRST to offer urgent care 7 days a week!
Excelsior’s continued growth has enabled them to attract world class physicians to ensure that the WNY community has access to state-of-the-art care. The team also includes some of the area’s most experienced, knowledgeable and dedicated nurse practitioners, physician assistants, physical and occupational therapists, athletic trainers and more. All these specialists work in close collaboration to deliver exceptional outcomes and help every patient get back to doing the things they want and need to do.
