My Path to Success

As a long-standing team member at Excelsior, my career has grown from being an individual contributor to leading a team. My clinical background combined with progressive on- and off-the-job training has enabled my role to expand beyond just purchasing. Having the autonomy to identify and select the most progressive products and implement new processes that enhance patients’ experiences is what excites me most about my role!

My Typical Day

My days vary based on the time of the year. I oversee the day-to-day accounting functions for both Excelsior Orthopaedics and Buffalo Surgery Center. I also manage the payroll process for both organizations with a typical day including project management, data analysis and preparation of financial statements. A big part of my role is to develop efficient processes for not only the accounting department but for overall operations. Financial analysis is a critical aspect of the job — it helps steer the ship.

The J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge Series is a world-wide series of 3.5-mile running events open to groups of full-time employees from organizations within the business and public sectors. Participating companies use the event as a platform to promote health and fitness in the workplace, foster goodwill and camaraderie among their employees, and show their commitment to the community and best environmental practices.

11 Day Power Play

The 11 Day Power Play is an annual event that raises money for cancer research and local families affected by cancer. The organizations supported include: Roswell Park®, Children’s Hospital, Make-A-Wish® and Camp Good Days.

Special Olympics New York

By participating in events that fundraise for Special Olympics New York, Excelsior Orthopaedics and Buffalo Surgery Center are making sure our friends and neighbors with developmental disabilities get the same access and opportunity as everyone else to compete in sports. Each winter, you’ll find our team jumping into Lake Erie at the Polar Plunge, and each summer, our team plays flag football at Highmark Stadium in the Buffalo Bowl. We raises thousands of dollars annually.

University Express - Erie County Senior Services

University Express offers free educational classes for older adults in Erie County. The program runs during spring and fall semesters. You will find classes in a variety of categories, including current affairs, history, humanities, finance and medicine. Classes are designed to stimulate the mind and provide opportunities to build social networks, thereby reducing social isolation.

The Good Climb

Excelsior Orthopaedics and Buffalo Surgery Center are committed to the importance of mental health. Each year at The Good Climb – a unique endurance event and mental health services fundraiser – our team members climb up HoliMont mountain to raise money for youth mental health programs in Western New York high schools.

Community Youth Sports

Each year, Excelsior supports many youth sports teams and organizations in the WNY community. We work with a number of local high school teams to provide athletic training services, and run a number of classes, events and programs designed specifically for enhanced safety and injury prevention in youth athletics.

NYS Trooper Partnership

Excelsior Orthopaedics is proud to be named a Preferred Medical Partner to the New York State Troopers Police Benevolent Association (PBA) – the official union of the NY State Troopers through the rank of Major.
