Do I have Carpal Tunnel Syndrome?

Date: April 28, 2014 Category: Uncategorized

While you will definitely want to have a doctor confirm whether or not you suffer from carpal tunnel syndrome, it’s good to be able to identify the symptoms that you experience that may be related.

The first symptom is pretty obvious: pain in the hands, wrists and fingers. This pain can be brought on by activity, such as typing, but sometimes little to no hand use can still result in pain. In fact, people often wake up in the night due to the pain.

As you might imagine, with the pain comes a degree of weakness. Certainly, if you find yourself prevented from doing everyday tasks like typing or gripping a steering wheel, that’s a tell-tale sign of carpal tunnel syndrome.

Lastly, both numbness and tingling in your fingers also point to carpal tunnel. While both of these sensations can be associated with other causes, frequent occurrence might mean that it’s time to talk with a doctor about carpal tunnel treatment.
