About Dr. Violante

Dr. Violante is a board certified podiatrist, specializing in foot care. His approach to patient care is to try to set a relaxed tone immediately with a goofy demeanor. He loves connecting with patients on a personal level and developing trust. He aims to keep things simple and offer treatment options that meet a patient’s lifestyle - which is often the less invasive treatment option.

Dr. Violante is one of seven children - in fact, his brother is also a physician at Excelsior. He is always keeping busy with something, from kayaking to cross-country skiing to hiking, biking, swimming, virtually anything outdoors. He enjoys mountain climbing and has done a couple major climbs across the US. He’s often found running around with his family and attending the many events and competitions that his children participate in.

What’s the best way for someone to protect their feet?

“One of the first things I often ask patients is, ‘what kind of shoes are you wearing, and how old are those shoes?’ Quite often, we can pinpoint that that’s a lot of the problem. I’m really big on those two things because you have to have good shoes to protect your feet and avoid painful conditions in the future.”

What was your most memorable mountain climbing experience?

“The last climb I did was with four of my brothers. We had to hike for 5000ft of elevation in pouring rain on the first day, and we arrived at base camp 1 absolutely drenched. We had to sleep in our wet clothes. The next day we went to base camp 2. The storm from day one had iced over the mountain so badly, they pulled the plug on the trip. We shared a lot of misery, but it was an unbelievable experience. That was Mt. Rainier in Seattle.”
