About Dr. Hood
Dr. Hood is a board certified, fellowship-trained orthopaedic spine surgeon. When you see Dr. Hood, you can count on him to listen to you. There are often many treatment options available, and he wants to find the one that best suits your specific issue and goals. Though he performs an impressive number of procedures and surgeries, including a high volume of robotic spinal fusions, he aims to avoid unnecessary surgical intervention whenever possible.
Outside of work, Dr. Hood spends time with family. He places high value on prioritizing his own fitness and health, striving to set a good example for his patients and maintain musculoskeletal strength and function. He grew up in Kenmore, NY, and after spending the last 10 years in Arizona, he’s excited to be back home, cheering for the Buffalo sports teams.
What made you decide to join Excelsior Orthopaedics?
“Having been with several practices prior, I can confidently say that the way the practice is run, the community feel amongst the partners and leaders, and the vast array of offerings within the practice all told me that this was the right move for my practice and my family.”
Do you have a favorite TV show or movie?
“It depends on the genre, but I’m a big fan of Braveheart. I have Scottish heritage, so that’s part of the reason I always enjoy it. That’s probably my favorite movie. There are a lot of good TV shows, but Friends is one of my favorites. It ran for so long and was such a great show.”
