About Dr. Newsome
Dr. Newsome is a board certified podiatrist who treats a wide variety of foot issues, both surgical and non-surgical, including diabetic foot care, fractures, hammertoes and bunion treatment. His approach to care is empathetic, focusing on meaningful interactions with every patient that lead to a treatment plan addressing the whole problem.
As the son of a nurse, Dr. Newsome has always wanted to pursue medicine as a career path. He has enjoyed seeing podiatry evolve over the last 15 years into more than toe nail clipping but physicians who perform limb saving surgeries.
When he’s not working, Dr. Newsome enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter. He’s also an avid golfer who is hoping to turn his daughter onto the sport while she is young.
What drew you to podiatry?
“My mother was a nurse, so I was always interested in pursuing medicine as a career path. I eventually shadowed in a podiatry office and thought it was the perfect combination of clinical care, surgery and orthopaedics.”
Besides podiatry, is there anything you are really passionate about?
“I really enjoy playing golf. I played competitively in high school and recently returned to the game. Now, I’m traveling to various courses and introducing my daughter to the sport as well.”
