EXCELSIOR ORTHOPAEDICS NAMED PREFERRED MEDICAL PARTNER OF THE NEW YORK STATE TROOPERS POLICE BENEVOLENT ASSOCIATION

Date: March 5, 2020 Category: Uncategorized
Excelsior Orthopaedics has been named a Preferred Medical Partner of the New York State Troopers Police Benevolent Association (PBA) – the official union of the NY State Troopers through the rank of Major.

Through this partnership, Excelsior will provide orthopaedic care, physical and occupational therapy and related services to active and retired New York State Troopers and their families who live and work in Western New York.

“It is an honor to have the team at Excelsior Orthopaedics become a ‘Preferred Medical Partner’ for the NYS Troopers PBA,” said Michael C. Brooks, Director of Medical Operations for the State Trooper Surgeons, a division of the NYS Troopers PBA, which works to improve access to medical care for NYS Troopers and their families.

“Excelsior has demonstrated outstanding expertise and care for a number of our members, saving careers and keeping our Troopers ready to meet the physical challenges that they face on a daily basis,” Brooks said. “They now officially become part of the healthcare navigation program of the State Trooper Surgeons. This elevation will improve necessary communications, ensuring access to the best care for NYS Troopers. We are grateful to have them on board.”

From routine treatment of chronic muscle, bone and joint conditions, to surgical intervention for traumatic injuries, and post-operative rehabilitation, Excelsior will provide comprehensive orthopaedic care for these first responders, enabling them to regain the functions necessary for their return to service.

“Excelsior is committed to providing world-class musculoskeletal care to patients across Western New York, and it is a privilege to be considered a preferred medical resource for those who put their lives on the line every day – sacrificing their own well-being to ensure the safety of others,” said David Uba, CEO of Excelsior Orthopaedics.

Trooper Michael O’Bryan, already an Excelsior Orthopaedics patient, sees the partnership between the NYS Troopers PBA and Excelsior as a positive step forward. “My fellow officers and myself are excited to Partner with Excelsior Orthopedics,” Trooper O’Bryan said. “Excelsior is the future when it comes to work and sport related injuries. I am a New York State Trooper by day and college basketball official by night. And without the care and therapy I’ve received at Excelsior, I would not be able to do my two favorite things.”
