Exercise for Bone Health
It probably comes at no surprise that exercise can really benefit your bone health. While bones function far differently from muscles, they still require use in order to avoid deterioration and to continue supporting your body.
So, you have a few options to ensure that your bones stay healthy, including strength training, yoga and cardio exercise. But, you can also do weight-bearing exercises, which can be as simple as “power-walking,” hiking, jogging or even using a jump rope.
Of course, you don’t need to stick with solitary activities, as many sports, including tennis and basketball, offer the same sorts of benefits, and even help with cardio as well.
Basically, the movement associated with these activities gives bones something to do. In the modern office world, bones don’t necessarily get the use that they are meant to have, so staying active and moving on a regular basic can prevent certain orthopaedic health concerns. Furthermore, strengthening your bones helps prevent breaking, saving you a trip to urgent care!
