The problem: Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy
If you’re living with diabetes, you may be at risk for a condition that can cause significant pain in your feet and legs. It’s called “diabetic peripheral neuropathy” (DPN), and it can make life very difficult – limiting your ability to do the things you want and need to do.
It is a common condition – affecting about 1 in 5 patients with diabetes – that has typically been treated with oral medications. But many patients who take these medication report that they are not very effective at reducing pain and often have troublesome side effects like weight gain, drowsiness, dry mouth and dizziness among others.

Patients suffering from the chronic pain of DPN now have an alternative to ineffective medications, and while it’s not a “new” approach to pain relief, it has recently been approved by the FDA specifically for the treatment of DPN.
