Physician Assistant
Kathryn Knisely is registered physician assistant who supports the practice of Dr. Ostempowski, specializing in hip and knee replacements. After exploring athletic training in college, she discovered an interest in medicine, specifically surgery. Her approach to patient care is to interact with everyone like they're already a close friend. She believes that no one can know your body better than you do, so listening to her patients is the key to her care, as well as allowing patients to make educated treatment choices after understanding all their options.
Kathryn and her husband have three children, and they enjoy family-friendly events like picnics, family movie nights, trips to local farms, bike rides, hiking, swimming and baking.
What is something people might not know about you?
I was a synchronized swimmer from ages 9-17 for a nationally competitive team - the Town of Tonawanda Aquettes. In 1996 my team won the gold medal at national age group championships. I also swam on the Synchronized swim team at Canisius College. It taught me discipline, work ethic, time management, sportsmanship, and how to be part of a team.
