About Dr. Burzynski
Dr. Burzynski is a board certified, fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeon and Sports Medicine specialist with a background in biochemistry. For Dr. Burzynski, making a connection with patients is key to helping patients get the outcome they desire. He understands the fear that many patients have before seeking treatment, and encourages non-operative treatments as much as possible.
As a lifetime athlete, Dr. Burzynski still tries to incorporate sports into his day-today life, and stays active and busy as much as possible. He was born in Poland, but grew up in Buffalo, NY, where he now lives with his wife and son. In addition to the Bills and Sabres, he’s an avid Arsenal football club fan.
What drew you to orthopaedic surgery?
“I had a shoulder injury when I was fresh out of college playing bar-league volleyball - I tore up my shoulder and I needed to have surgery. I had a science background I wasn’t using at the time, and I kept thinking, ‘I could be that guy that’s helping athletes and other people get better.’ I realized it could be my job to help athletes get back to sports. There’s no other course of medicine that I would love as much as orthopaedics.”
Besides orthopaedics, is there anything you are really passionate about?
“I’m a self-proclaimed chicken wing connoisseur. That’s a title you can only get when you go and eat as many chicken wings as you can. I keep a top 10 list on my fridge. Whenever I go anywhere outside of Buffalo, I try to taste the wings to see what’s out there. I can tell you - there’s nothing better than a good Buffalo wing.”
