Excelsior Orthopaedics Welcomes Dr. John Swinarski, Expands Pain Management Therapies

Date: August 6, 2024 Category: Uncategorized

John P. Swinarski, DO, Interventional Pain Management Physician, specializes in interventional pain management of acute or chronic pain caused by injury or medical condition. He is Board Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Dr. Swinarski’s addition to the Excelsior Orthopaedics team of physicians enhances the organization’s ability to meet the community’s need for progressive pain management therapies. As the leading provider of musculoskeletal care in the area, Excelsior Orthopaedics expanded into the interventional pain management space in 2022 with the arrival of Dr. James Behr. Pain management therapies that Dr. John P. Swinarski can provide include cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine procedures, epidurals, joint injections, and spinal cord stimulation.

Dr. Swinarski is a Western New York native who proudly grew up in a large family, and today, he resides in Orchard Park with his wife and four children. He attended medical school at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, an education he says gave him invaluable hands-on treatment tools in addition to pharmaceutical interventions.

Dr. Swinarski’s preferred style of working with patients is starting each treatment plan with a conversation about what may have started a patient’s injury or pain, trying chiropractic procedures or physical therapy as conservative measures first, then discussing the possibility of injections or procedures. He aims to be a guiding medical professional voice and a good listener.

“Every time I’m able to help somebody, and they say, ‘I feel back to myself, or I feel 80-90 percent better,’ no matter how bad their pain was, it makes me feel better and want to continue to do this as a practice,” says Dr. Swinarski.

Dr. Swinarski is now accepting new patients in Orchard Park, Amherst, and East Amherst. Learn more about Dr. Swinarski here.
